: 15 th Annual MPHFGS/Parafix Golf Day 25 th September 2007
42 hardy golfers enjoyed the exquisite surroundings of West Sussex's Singing Hills Golf Club for this year's combined golf society and Parafix company golf day. As per tradition, the day started with typical golfers' fare, bacon rolls and coffee in preparation for the rigours ahead.
The troupe then proceeded to challenge for team success and attempt to break the record for the morning Texas Scramble (a gross 28, netting 25 compared to the par 34). The winning group of Martin Adams, Andy Smith, Phil Scarfield and Steve Barwick returned a gross 30, netting 27. The lunch did not slow down the enthusiasm as the groups went off two tees in pursuit of Individual glory; the ultimate winner Simon Buckman returned a very respectable 39 stableford points whilst playing off his recently reduced handicap of 14. We all returned to the bar having enjoyed not only the course but the outstanding weather. The three course dinner enjoyed by all was followed by the prize giving and story telling, thereby rounding off another successful event.
