: Local Company Praised For Assisting With Work Of Fire And Rescue Service
Parafix Tapes and Conversions based in Spencer Road on Lancing Industrial Estate has been recognised and formally thanked by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service for its ongoing support in maintaining the Fire Station based on the Marlborough Road site.
District Commander Roy Barraclough from WSFRS explained that the support of local companies such as Parafix Tapes and Conversions is vital in maintaining fire cover in the County. "The Fire station at the Marlborough road site which responds to about 450 calls a year is entirely staffed by part time personnel who respond from their normal place of work in the event of an incident. During the normal working day the Fire Service is experiencing increasing difficulty in ensuring that the Fire engines at Lancing and other stations in the county have sufficient personnel available." He added; "We are very lucky to have such a public spirited organisation close to the Fire station at Lancing. We appreciate that in the commercial world it is often difficult for a company to support a community based service such as the Fire Service. "However, in this instance this thriving and innovative local company has the foresight to understand that there are many great but often unseen benefits in having fully trained firefighters employed in its workforce." Any other organisations who employ people they think may be suitable are asked to speak to the individuals first and then contact Steve Burrows or Roy Barraclough at Worthing Fire Station on 01903 228440 for further details.
