: The Lancing Business Park
The Lancing Business Park (LBP), on the coastal strip between Worthing and Brighton has been the home of Parafix for over 20 years. LBP has recently been awarded a Business Improvement District (BID) status and LBP Ltd has been incorporated to be the vehicle to administer the BID. The purpose of this initiative is one of self help, whereby the BID has polled the 200 plus companies on the Park to establish a list of improved services they need, these were then prioritised and the BID’s business Plan to deliver on 4 core projects, was voted on and funding via a business levy agreed. Parafix as a freeholder on the Park through Michael Punter was a leader in establishing and now managing the initiative.
The 4 core projects were
Improvement in Safety and Security Improvement in Access An improvement in the Aesthetics and General Cleanliness Connecting the Park member companies through inter trading and an aggregation of the purchasing power.
Notable success stories to date are
Waste management , with one collector of card and paper waste free to BID members via bins funded by the BID, managed by a BID member. One stationery supplier, a BID member, now supplies 80% of LBP at the same price to every company regardless of their size and just importantly all deliveries before 9am. CCTV will be enhanced by 1st February 2010 to provide an improved service, i.e. digitised with number plate recognition with 24/7 monitoring by an LBP member. New lorry cab high signs to improve the traffic flow have been erected.
These are just a few of the improvements we have made with many more being worked on.
