: Big Clean for Parafix
In response to more and more interest and greater demand from our customers and suppliers, the Parafix class 10,000 clean room has recently been extended to almost twice its original size, increasing from 74 to 121 square metres.
Parafix purposefully invested in a modular clean room to allow for expansion or reduction as the business dictated, and this exciting new investment now allows for a wider range of machinery to be used in the clean environment. Having now increased to 4 separate manufacturing areas, Parafix are better able to service their customers in the medical/life sciences, electronics and automotive sectors. Apart from the size the most significant upgrade is the addition of a laser cutting machine, which offers a degree of accuracy and micro cutting capability simply not available in traditional machinery. A new wide web laminating machine is also now housed inside, and its capabilities can also be offered to Parafix's ISO9001 and BS EN 13485 standards. The 10,000 classification certifies that inside our clean room environment there will be less than 10,000 particles per cubic metre. To give a perspective, the ambient air outside in a typical urban environment might contain as many as 35,000,000 particles per cubic meter. Managing Director Michael Punter said "This gives us the opportunity to offer our customers exactly what they want in terms of clean room production. This increases our capacity for contaminant free production, as well as demonstrating our commitment to continue to invest in areas that will give us a competitive edge."
