: Night Out With The Boss Nets Funds For Children's Hospice
The prize for a night out with Mike Punter, Managing Director of Parafix Tapes & Conversions Ltd, netted a whopping £235 towards a grand total of £1100 recently donated to Chestnut Tree House children's hospice.
The money was raised through a raffle and auction at the end of December in memory of Mike's late wife, Lilian Punter. The event was organized by Anthony Chappell, landlord of Mike's local pub, The Duke of York in Sayers Common. Anthony only took charge of the pub six months ago but hopes to make this an annual event to add to their diary of regular quiz and themed dinner nights. Lancing-based Parafix have supported Chestnut Tree House since it opened in 2003. Said Fundraiser, Ali Unsted (pictured here with Mike, Anthony and fellow Fundraiser, Tracy Bowdery), "We are so grateful to Parafix for their generosity over the years and it's wonderful to have new supporters in Anthony and all the customers at the Duke of York." Mike Punter was also delighted with the amount raised, as he explains; "Being part of the community is very important to Parafix, and we are proud to be associated with helping Chestnut Tree House. Now all I need to do is make sure that the lucky winner has a night to remember!
